The Stand-In Cover Reveal!

Hello, my friends. I am a happy author today. That's what seeing my new covers does to me. And I have a sexy, brand-spanking-new one for you today.

As my readers may know, I have been hard at work on a contemporary romance called The Stand-In. This book will arrive Feb. 9, 2015, just in time for Valentine's Day. A frothy and humorous romance, I hope it will tickle your funny bone and give you a major case of the sighs.

This gorgeous cover was created by Valerie Tibbs at Liquid Silver Books and I couldn't be happier.
Take a gander!

Thanks so much to Valerie for her hard work and for capturing my characters just as I imagined them.

Please let me know your thoughts and make sure to tell your friends this book is coming your way Feb. 9. In the meantime, here's the blurb to whet your appetite!

Failed actress Winn Busby is at the end of her rope. With no money and no prospects, she accepts the one job she never thought she’d see on her resume. Professional bridesmaid. It should be easy. If only the idea of weddings and vows didn't give Winn a case of the hives. Her role becomes more challenging when she's told a reporter will shadow her work for a men's magazine article.

Working for Player magazine is Patrick Lincoln's worst nightmare. A former political journalist, he used to write thoughtful columns for one of Toronto's most respected papers. That is, until he was blackballed for allegedly sleeping with the boss's wife. Overnight, Patrick becomes the city's most reviled bad boy. And now he's forced to write a seedy expose on, of all things, a bridesmaid.

Patrick begrudgingly accompanies Winn to a series of strange weddings. As they are forced to work together, he learns there is more to the stand-in bridesmaid than puffy dresses and pretty speeches. She, in turn, begins to question whether or not Patrick actually deserves the derision of his peers. As much as they fight their attraction, it begins to threaten their work and their sanity.

For so long, Winn has felt second-best. A stand-in. She finally meets a man who believes in her value. But can she let go of the past and accept him?

One woman. Seven men. All bound by one man’s undying devotion.
Fundraiser Linden Hill has a knack for reading people. She always knows which conversations will put a prospect at ease, which drink will loosen a patron’s lips—or his wallet, and how cleavage will make a donor sweeten the deal. She’s even foreseen her dateless weekends four hundred and sixty-four times in a row.
But ten years after watching life drain from her former mentor’s and first love’s eyes, her skills for divining the predictable are lost. When Cyril returns, he’s still gorgeous, but this time he’s beyond human, far less dead, and pissed. His lack of memory drives him to desperate acts, and his turbulent re-acquaintance with Linden pulls her into his war with a creature hell-bent on his destruction. His group of six supernatural men share a tantalizing secret, but despite the hunger, it’s love that leads her to sacrifice everything to save him…

KaLyn Cooper...Christmas in Cancun!

I am so excited to welcome friend and fellow Love, Lust and Laptops author KaLyn Cooper today. The holiday season is upon us, and what better way to start celebrating than with a sexy, holiday romance? As someone who has traveled many times to the Mayan Riviera, I can't wait to get my hands on this book.

Welcome KaLyn!

Christmas in Cancun – Where did that come from?

Sometimes I think I should have studied anthropology or archeology instead of journalism, marketing and sociology. But my multiple and varied interests may be blamed on my ADD.
Writing Christmas in Cancun seemed easy because I had studied the effect the Spanish invasion had on the Yucatan Peninsula. And my family has spent several Christmas vacations in Cancun.
As you may know, I write factual fiction. I base my stories in fact and allow the reader to decide where my imagination takes over.
I found it fascinating that the light emanating from the Mayan temple to the four goddesses drew the Conquistadores right to the island they later named Isla Mujeres, the Isle of Women. Until they found those golden statues and the silver, gold and jewels offered by desperate women to their deities, the men had found little of value in what they would soon claim for their queen as the New World.
As with many conquered societies, the Mayan women adopted the Virgin Mary as another female holy entity, someone else to pray to and receive sacrifices. It was a delightful surprise when I first dove on the underwater Madonna at the North end of Isla Mujeres. She stands on an outcropping of stone surrounded by coral in vibrant shades of red, swaying purple fans, mounds of yellow brain coral and constantly moving iridescent blue parrot fish. Schools of yellow fish pass by her, smaller silver fish flash in the clear turquois water and she stands serene in the constantly moving ocean.

Several miles down the mainland from Cancun, Rio Secreto, the Secret River, empties pristine water into the Caribbean Sea. All over the area they call the Riviera Maya you can find cenotes. These were created thousands of years ago when a river cave collapsed, exposing its endless supply of untainted water to the surface.

In Christmas in Cancun, I brought all these elements together and added the human drama of the Girard family in this action-packed romantic suspense that goes on sale December 1, 2014. It is the first of the “In Cancun” series. Look for a novella and two more novels next year.

Busy building a new career with his catamaran company, former SEAL Jack Girard had all but forgotten about his grandfather’s quest to find the golden Mayan goddess statues until his brother’s beautiful widow, Jillian, and adorable daughter, Addison, arrive in Cancun with the research materials. His need to complete the family mission is almost as strong as his desire for Jillian.
Between raising her daughter alone and finishing her doctorate in Mayan anthropology, Jillian doesn’t have time for a man in her life. Although, after mourning her husband’s murder for two years, she’s ready for a man her bed.

An underwater Virgin Mary statue and centuries-old manuscripts lead the two of them through the Mayan Riviera and directly into danger.

During steamy Caribbean nights together, will they develop the ability to move on and discover the real treasure isn't gold?

Loralie Hall...Uriel's Fall!

I love a cover reveal! Especially when it showcases a book by someone as talented as Loralie Hall. Please help me welcome Loralie as she shows us her latest, Uriel's Fall.

When I first released Uriel's Fall (Ubiquity #1), I was absolutely in love with the cover. Enough so that I kept the same theme going with Izrafel's Acceptance (Ubiquity #1.5). The thing is, I still love the original covers. But in talking to fans, I've realized they don't give the impression I want for this series.
So all of the books are getting a makeover. These are still the same urban fantasy books. Demons, angels, and the eternal struggle between heaven and hell going corporate. But now they've got a little bit of a different feeling to them.
So, if you're ready for the new look, it's just below...

Uriel's Fall

What’s a corporate demon to do, when the voice in her head is devouring her sanity from the inside out, and the hosts of heaven and hell would rather see her destroyed than surrender a power no one should possess?
Ronnie has the job any entry-level angel or demon would sell their soul for—she’s a retrieval analyst for the largest search engine in the world. Ubiquity is a joint initiative between heaven and hell. Because what better way to track all of humanity’s secrets, both good and bad, than direct access to their web browsing habits?
She might appreciate the position a little more if a) she could remember anything about her life before she started working at Ubiquity, b) the damned voice in her head would just shut up already, and c) her boss weren’t a complete control freak.
As she searches for solutions to the first two issues, and hopes the third will work itself out in performance reviews, she uncovers more petty backstabbing than an episode of Real Housewives, and a conspiracy as old as Lucifer’s descent from heaven. On top of all that, if she forgets the cover sheet on her TPS report one more time, she’s absolutely going on final written warning.
Now Ronnie’s struggling to keep her sanity and job, while stopping the voice in her head from stealing her life. She almost misses the boredom of retrieval analysis at Ubiquity.

Annette Mardis...Gulf Shore Series!

Annette Mardis, fellow Liquid Silver Books author, has a wonderful series called the Gulf Shore series, one I can't wait to share with you. Please welcome her as she tells us about new release Shore Feels Right.

Thank you so much, Rosanna, for hosting me. Readers, do you believe in giving someone who has wronged you a second chance? Do you think self-centered individuals are capable of true concern and caring? How long should a repentant person be punished for her misbehavior?
Those questions are at the heart of Shore Feels Right, Book 2 in the Gulf Shore series.

Once a pariah among her coworkers, marine biologist Monica Sims has spent months reinventing herself as she seeks redemption. A history of failed relationships leaves her leery of romantic involvement until she meets Cosby Williams, the new co-owner of Nauti-Toys watercraft rentals.
As things heat up between them, Gulf Shore Aquarium responds to the stranding of a group of pilot whales. When a billionaire bachelor lends his private plane to the rescue effort, Monica catches his eye—and an obsession is born.
How will she cope with the unwanted attention? And will her past sins come back to doom her newfound happiness with Cosby?
When we first meet Monica in The Shore Thing, Gulf Shore Book 1, she’s the quintessential mean girl. She’s messed up her once-promising relationship with cameraman Evan Sanders so badly that he initially vows never again to date another coworker. And then, when it appears he’s finally met his match in aquarium education specialist Dani Davidson, Monica tries to torpedo their burgeoning romance.
Monica finally is called on her misbehavior and forced to face unflattering truths about herself. She promises to become a better woman, but some colleagues remain skeptical. She spends months trying to make amends and even admits that Dani and Evan are meant to be together.
When Shore Feels Right opens, Monica has made significant strides toward redemption. But there still are people around Gulf Shore—the town and the aquarium—who aren’t willing to forgive, let alone forget, what she’s done.
We’ve all known people in our lives like Monica: golden girls and boys who get away with acting spoiled and entitled because of their looks, charm or advantages in life. Sometimes they get their comeuppance. But often they keep on acting like the world revolves around them.
In the first Gulf Shore book, I wanted readers to dislike Monica—but not hate her. Though flawed, she’s good at her job and truly loves the animals under her care. A few people recognize her redeeming qualities, but most can’t see beyond her misdeeds. The failure isn’t with them; it’s with Monica for making it so difficult to believe the best of her.
Then along comes a truly nice guy who wasn’t around when she reigned as the queen of mean. He’s so taken with the new and improved Monica that he has difficulty imagining her being any other way.
But is Cosby letting lust cloud his better judgment and setting himself up for disappointment? Can Monica resist the lure of her boss’ billionaire buddy, who may be too good to be true? Or will she revert back to the old Monica and choose a man based on what he can do for her professionally, financially, and socially?
What would you do if you were in Monica’s shoes? And Cosby’s?

About the Gulf Shore series
Gulf Shore is a fictional west-central Florida beach town where you’ll feel sugary white sand between your toes, the warm sun on your shoulders, and a sea breeze ruffling your hair.
You’ll meet swoon-worthy alpha males who aren’t embarrassed to cuddle a rescued baby dolphin in their muscular arms, and accomplished women looking for an equal partner who thinks that smart is sexy.
You’ll get up close and personal with sea life, join the “snipe and gripe” club for girls’ nights out, and fall in love with a talking parrot who acts like a little boy in a bird suit.
You’ll go behind-the-scenes at the local aquarium and out to the beach to rescue marine animals in distress. And once you visit Gulf Shore, you just may find yourself wishing you could stay.

The Shore Thing, Book 1 in the Gulf Shore seriesDanielle “Dani” Davidson vows to just say no to workplace romances after her first post-college job is soured by a messy breakup with a manipulative coworker at a fish hatchery. That’s just one reason she doesn’t trust any man with her heart, let alone one who swims with sharks for a living. So why can’t she get cameraman Evan Sanders out of her mind?
Evan is twice shy, too, after an alluring but self-absorbed colleague at Gulf Shore Aquarium takes a bite out of his heart. Thought he’s dead set against dating anyone else he works with, he’s intrigued by Dani’s shyness and tempted by her intelligence and low-key sexiness.
Sharks, a stingray and an orphaned baby dolphin help bring them together, but will Dani’s inhibitions and Evan’s career aspirations ultimately tear them apart?

Getting Her Money’s Worth Life often has been unkind, and sometimes cruel, to Allie Charles, and she’s determined not to be shortchanged and to live in the moment whenever possible.
She and close pal Shelby Martin want many of the same things: romance, fun, good friends and satisfying work. After meeting on a softball field on a frigid fall evening, they enjoy many adventures together: watching the piranha feeding at the National Aquarium; overturning their canoe in the deepest, blackest part of a river; getting stuck thigh high in mud on a golf course water hazard; winning tacky prizes at skee ball machines in Ocean City, Md.
Only one woman will see her heart’s desires fulfilled, while the other faces the biggest challenge of her life. This touching, poignant and funny story will make you laugh, cry and go for the gusto in your own life.

Annette’s bio:
As a girl, Annette dreamed of being an astronaut, but she stank at science and math and became motion sick riding the bus home from school. So she went with her second choice—newspaper journalist—and stuck with it for more than three decades. After years of ignoring well-meaning people who said, “You should write a book,” she finally did. And then she wrote a few more. When she's not working, Annette usually has her nose in someone else’s novel or her gaze glued to sports on TV. She has three totally spoiled pets, enjoys being the designated sightseer on her husband’s Harley, and volunteers at Clearwater Marine Aquarium, home of diva dolphins Winter and Hope from the Dolphin Tale films.

GENRE – New Adult – Romantic Comedy - Chick-Lit
PUBLICATION DATE – November, 03, 2014

~Bailey Cooper has fallen in love - sadly the man she’s in love with already has a man. Or so she thinks. Sounds complicated doesn’t it? ~
Bailey Cooper is very much attracted to her neighbor Max Davis. Unfortunately for Bailey, Greg – Max’s lover is slowly becoming one of Bailey’s best friends. Bailey’s emotions are torn. She adores Greg’s friendship while at the same time she craves Max’s touch. What is a girl to do when she ‘thinks’ the man she's in love with is in love with someone else? Max Davis and his baby brother Greg Davis are co-owners of the apartment building they live in. Max has fallen for his tenant, Bailey, but she avoids and ignores all of his advances. It doesn’t take long for him to become suspicious of the friendship blooming between Greg and Bailey. He believes Bailey has a crush on his brother but Max wants his shy little neighbor all to himself. Now he has to think of ways to keep Bailey and Greg apart, which is ridiculous because Greg isn't even in to women. Time to break that news to his neighbor and hope it causes her attention to swing his way. Will a holiday weekend full of chaos, confusion and a little bit of charm finally get Bailey and Max on the right track? Or will a few innocent caresses lead to more Christmas confusion?

Max scooted back on the couch, he reached toward Bailey, eyes straying to her legs. Even though she wore jeans, he still pictured her legs bare, like they were when she jumped on his counter. Her eyes widened as his hand came closer and closer. Max leaned forward, stretching his arm even closer to her body, he ached to touch her. His fingertips itched for a chance to slide down her body. As he moved closer, he heard her inhale deeply and he couldn’t escape the erotic images that flowed through his mind. Oh, the sounds I could cause her to make, if she would give me the chance. Max continued edging forward, until his fingers wrapped around what he was reaching for. He picked the remote control up and moved back to his side of the couch. His hand shook slightly. Bailey exhaled. The sound sent chills over his body. Max pointed the remote at the television and pressed play. He cleared his throat. “Do you want to start from the beginning or do you want me to find the last scene you watched?” Max waited on her to answer but all he heard was the sound of her breathing. He kept his eyes straight forward, fearing the sight of her chest rising and falling would be his downfall. She took so long to answer that he forgot what his question was. “Whatever you want,” she whispered, and his gut clenched. Max pressed pause. What was his question? For the life of him, he couldn’t remember what he’d asked her. But her answer ‘whatever you want’ was the answer he craved. A thousand questions raced through his head, ‘Bailey, what do you want me to do to you with my tongue?’ Her answer of ‘whatever you want’ would be perfect for that question. ‘Bailey, what do you want me to do to you with my hands?’ Whatever you want would be the perfect answer to that question. But none of those were the question she was answering. What had he asked her? “Or we could just watch television,” she said. “We don’t have to watch the movie, I know it’s a chick flick and you may not like it.” Oh yeah, the movie. “No, no, we can watch the movie.” Get it together, Max. “Okay,” Bailey smiled and snuggled further into the comforter. His comforter, the one he would sleep under later on tonight. The comforter that would have her sweet scent on it until he decided to wash it, if he decided to wash it. Get it together, now, Max. Max cleared his throat again. He felt like his t-shirt was getting tighter, choking him. Max found it hard to swallow. “We can just watch it from the beginning. How long is this movie anyway?” he asked her. “It’s a short movie, about an hour long.” He would have an hour in her company, an hour with her sitting within arms-reach of him, an hour of sweet torture. He would enjoy every minute of it.

Revenge is a dish best served cold… while wearing heels. April has just learned the real reason behind her boss’ impromptu dinner invitation. He only invited her to dinner with his colleagues to prove a point: that he can show up at an event with a plain Jane and still be considered ‘the man’. She expected better from him and had secretly hoped that one day their friendship would grow into something deeper. Now she knows she will always just be his ‘nerdy secretary’ to him. But her two best friends won’t let her wallow in her pain. They convince her to give Dr. Stewart a dose of his own medicine. The plan: show up at the dinner looking irresistible and prove to her boss that even nerd girls can be sexy. But first she has to replace her unattractive business suits with something sexier and more revealing. It’s time for a makeover. Dr. Chad Stewart would never ‘really’ date his secretary. She was too good, to pure for someone as jaded as himself. It didn’t matter that he was half in love with her. But when he needed an ‘average date’ for a dinner party she was the first person he turned to. He thought his secretary was the perfect choice until he arrived to find her looking like his wildest fantasy. But now she knows the real reason for his invite and he can see in her eyes how hurt she is. Can Chad convince her to forgive him for hurting her or will she walk out of his life… taking his heart with her?

Check out part of the truth or dare scene from Christmas Confusion:

Greg explained the rules to the truth or dare newbies.
“First of all,” Greg said in his serious voice.
He looked so ridiculously serious that Krista and Bailey burst out laughing. The three of them were already slightly tipsy from the shot they took earlier.
“If you girls are not gonna take this seriously, then I’m not gonna play with you,” Greg pouted.
“Okay, we’re ready,” Krista said, and all Bailey did was giggle. She wasn’t a heavy drinker and that one shot had her buzzed.
“Okay,” Greg continued. “The rules are simple. You can either choose truth or dare, but you can’t choose one or the other three times in a row. For instance, Bailey…”
“Hey,” Bailey said. “Why are you picking on me? What have I done now?”
“Nothing yet. But I got a feeling you are going to try to choose truth every time it’s your turn.”
“I got that same feeling,” Krista said before blowing a strand of her black curly hair out of her face.
“I’m not going to choose truth every time,” Bailey told them, even though that had been her initial plan.
Both Krista and Greg looked at her like they didn’t believe her.
“I’m going to keep my eyes on you Bailey.” Greg said. “My spidey senses are tingling and when they do that during truth or dare it means someone is going to cheat.”
“He said tingling,” Krista giggled.
“Whatever.” Bailey rolled her eyes. “Okay, so we can’t choose one or the other more than two times.”
“That’s right, Bailey. Now, if you choose truth, and refuse to answer the question, you have to take a shot.”
Bailey groaned. Were all of these rules created for her?
“And,” Greg continued, “If you do tell a truth but we feel it’s a lie, you have to take a shot.”
“Did you guys make up these rules with me in mind?” Bailey asked.
“I didn’t,” Krista responded. “These are Greg’s rules and I like them. Okay, so who goes first?”
“I’ll go first,” Greg volunteered. Bailey was glad he was going first. She was sure they were going to make her go first.
“So, truth or dare?” Krista asked Greg.
“Truth,” Greg responded.
Krista turned to her. “Do you want to ask him a question or should I?” Bailey had no idea why she was nervous, it was just a game.
“You ask,” she told Krista.
Krista stared at Greg seated across the table from them “So Greg, how long have you been into men?”
Bailey gasped, “Krista!”
“What?” Krista exclaimed as if nothing was wrong. Bailey knew she was blushing enough for the two of them.
“Calm down, Bailey,” Greg said. “That is the perfect way to start off truth or dare. Now the answer is… drum roll, please.”
Krista began beating her hands against the table.

Predator's Fire- a Top Pick at The Romance Reviews!

You can imagine how surprised and grateful I was this morning to log onto my laptop and see an email from The Romance Reviews, letting me know Predator's Fire had just received a 5 star review and Top Pick!

Reviewer Evampire had this to say: "There is never a dull moment in this story and I was enthralled from the very beginning with the captivating Gemini Island Shifters, the suspense, the passion and some charming fun along the way that spiced things up nicely. Needless to say, I am very much looking forward to reading the next one."

How awesome is that? Thanks so much to The Romance Reviews and to Evampire. It's always a thrill to get a special review, but this one tickles me in a way few others do. And a Top Pick!
